The Indonesian Embassy in Palestine held an official ceremony to inaugurate the first grand mosque built by Indonesia in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The mosque, named Masjid Istiqlal Indonesia, is located in the city of Khan Younis. The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from Indonesia, Palestine, and other countries.

Symbol of Strength

The construction of Masjid Istiqlal Indonesia was initiated in 2018 as a symbol of unity and cooperation between Indonesia and Palestine. The mosque is designed to accommodate thousands of worshipers and will serve as a center for religious activities, education, and social gatherings. The inauguration of the mosque is also seen as a symbol of the strength and resilience of the Palestinian people.

Support from Indonesia

"The construction of this mosque is a testament to the strong ties between Indonesia and Palestine," said Indonesian President Joko Widodo in a speech during the inauguration ceremony. "Indonesia will continue to support Palestine in its struggle for independence and statehood." The Indonesian government has been a major donor to Palestine, providing assistance in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.
